# Use OpenWork from an AI agent

> Exact commands for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, ChatGPT, and other agents to install OpenWork, set it up for a team, or connect the OpenWork MCP Gateway.

Point your agent at [openworklabs.com/llms.txt](https://openworklabs.com/llms.txt) and it can install OpenWork, set it up for a team, or connect OpenWork to itself. This page has the same steps.

## My team: set up OpenWork Cloud

1. [Sign up](https://app.openworklabs.com?mode=sign-up) and name your team. That creates your organization. The Free plan covers up to 5 users.
2. Invite teammates in `Members` > `Add member`.
3. Share models in `AI Gateway` > `AI Providers` > `Add provider`.
4. Share a skill: **Manage › Plugins › Create a plugin**, add the skill, then add the team under **Who can use it**.
5. Everyone installs the desktop app and clicks `Joining a team? Sign in`.

It uses the `openwork-bootstrap` CLI from `https://openworklabs.com/install.sh`, which needs Node.js 24.x (24.22.1 or newer within that major) and doesn't install the desktop app.

## Inside my agent: connect the MCP Gateway

Server URL: `https://api.openworklabs.com/mcp/agent`. Sign-in uses OAuth in the browser. You need an OpenWork Cloud account.

For approved private-alpha organizations, your agent can also configure the Slack assistant. Use the [OpenWork in Slack guide](https://openworklabs.com/docs/slack/overview.md) and its copyable setup prompt. An administrator installs the bot; every member authorizes their own Slack connection.
